SettlePact

USDT and USDC escrow for trades with strangers

Buying or selling stablecoins with someone you met online? Neither of you should have to send first. SettlePact locks both sides in a smart contract and releases them together, usually within two minutes, or refunds everyone in full.

  • Pay from any wallet or exchange
  • No account or ID check
  • Full refund if the deal doesn't complete
  • 0.30% per side

What people use stablecoin escrow for

Crypto-for-cash deals are paused for now while we upgrade how bank payments are checked. Deals between two people and instant swaps work as usual.

Swapping with another person

Trade USDT for USDC, ETH or wrapped BTC with someone from a Telegram group, forum or OTC desk, without either side taking the risk of going first.

Selling USDT for cash (paused)

Lock your USDT or USDC, let the buyer pay by bank transfer in USD, EUR or GBP, and release only once their payment is confirmed.

Buying USDT for cash (paused)

The seller's crypto is locked before you send any money, so you can see it's really there before you pay.

Large OTC trades

From $50,000 the fee drops to 0.15% per side. A $100,000 trade costs $300 in total.

Supported networks

Both people use the network chosen when the deal is created. Your receiving address is the same 0x address on every network.

NetworkStablecoinsAlso supported
BaseUSDT, USDC, DAIETH, WBTC
Arbitrum OneUSDT, USDC, DAIETH, WBTC
OptimismUSDT, USDC, DAIETH, WBTC
PolygonUSDT, USDC, DAIETH (as WETH), WBTC
BNB Smart ChainUSDT, USDC, DAIBNB, ETH, BTCB
TRON (TRC-20) and Ethereum mainnet aren't supported. Never send TRC-20 USDT to a SettlePact deposit address. Most exchanges let you withdraw USDT on BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum, Polygon or another network above instead, often for a lower fee.

Paying from an exchange

You don't need a personal wallet to pay. Withdraw from Binance, Coinbase, Kraken or any other exchange straight to the deposit address on the deal page.

  • Pick the same network as the deal. Exchanges show this as a "Network" option when you withdraw.
  • Withdrawal fees are covered. In deals with a person, a deposit up to 1% short is still accepted, and both sides are settled in the same proportion so the trade stays fair.
  • Crypto-for-cash deals need the full amount, so add your exchange's withdrawal fee on top.
  • Receive into a wallet you control if you can. If you use an exchange deposit address, make sure that exchange supports the deal's network.

Common USDT scams escrow protects you from

"Send first, I'll pay after"

The classic. With escrow, nobody is paid until both deposits are in, so there's nothing to run away with.

Fake payment screenshots

In crypto-for-cash deals, the bank's own digitally signed payment email is checked, not a screenshot.

Fake "escrow agents"

Group-chat middlemen who hold funds can simply keep them. A smart contract can only pay the deal's wallets or refund.

Swapped deposit addresses

USDT escrow questions

Can I use USDT on TRON (TRC-20)?

Not yet. SettlePact supports USDT on Base, Arbitrum One, Optimism, Polygon and BNB Smart Chain. Most exchanges let you withdraw USDT on one of these networks instead of TRON. Never send TRC-20 USDT to a SettlePact deposit address.

Can I pay straight from Binance, Coinbase or another exchange?

Yes. Withdraw to the deposit address shown on the deal page and choose the same network as the deal. In deals with a person, arriving up to 1% short because of the exchange's withdrawal fee is still accepted, and both sides are settled in the same proportion.

Can I sell USDT for a bank transfer?

Not right now: crypto-for-cash deals are paused while we upgrade how bank payments are checked. When they return, the seller locks the USDT or USDC, the buyer pays by bank transfer in USD, EUR or GBP, and the crypto is released once the seller forwards the bank's payment email and it has been checked. The fee is 0.65%.

How fast is a USDT escrow deal?

Payouts usually arrive within one to two minutes of the second deposit. If the other side hasn't paid within the 30-minute deal window, your deposit is refunded in full with no fee.

What does USDT escrow cost?

0.30% per side for deals between two people, or 0.15% per side from $50,000, with a $1.00 minimum. Refunded and cancelled deals are free.
